🚀 RELAUNCH - 2023 🚀
The start of 2023 sees a big shift for us. We are no longer partnering with Product Focus, after 5 years it was time for a change, but there are some other interesting new partnerships on their way!
The business was originally launched back in 2017 as a vehicle for delivering training and consultancy. Back then, we were called SOT Consulting, based on a model I have around Strategic-Operational-Tactical working styles. But I never liked the name, and it never really represented what I wanted the business to do long term.
In 2020, I tried for a new name with Scale Business Performance and started to develop some brand assets to create a consistent customer experience. But again, I found myself not believing in things. It just didn’t represent us well enough and was too generic.
Interestingly, in 2018 I first articulated our mission, and it has not really changed throughout all of this, the core remains the same:
“Helping entrepreneurial product people and teams to be successful”
In 2022, I finally landed on a name I was happy with, one that is true to that mission. I debated for some time about changing the name again. I considered just using it as a trading name but ultimately decided the bite the bullet and make what I believe is a final change.

That name is for product people, but you probably know that because you are on the site! It clearly states who our customers are. It’s you, the product people of the world.
It also fits really well after the title of services and products that we offer, a bit like the old book series “for dummies”. We might even use it on some books in the future!
Over the rest of the year of last, we invested with a branding agency and other creatives to create the assets we needed to be able to have a consistent style for our content, in particular, the website and our soon-to-launch self-paced learning.
The brand is made up of lots of different shapes, representing the different building blocks we can use to help you and your teams. I’m always accused of being so “on-brand” by wearing orange all the time, which is amusing considering that it’s the other way around. I chose the business's main brand colour because it represents me and what I like to wear! But we have also broadened our palette with vibrant and complimentary colours.
Now we are ready!
We are starting 2023 with the right name, increased clarity and focus. To match that, we are also relaunching the company website! Welcome!
